I am a Brazilian Professor at Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro that researches Water Microbiology and the bacterial biodegradation of organic contaminants. My goal is to monitor the water quality of the aquatic environment, including rivers, lakes and urban beaches, seeking strategies for the recovery and conservation of the aquatic environment. Now I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo, prospecting bacterial able to degrade PCB from electric transformers.
